Sunday, August 11th, 2002: This is my last official brunch at East Nashville Bongo Java. There's a good chance that I'll come back occasionally when Chef Mary takes a break, but most of my energy is going to be concentrated on the new cafe (opening in a couple of weeks). This week's brunch will have a ton of menu options, and I'm going to have sampler plates where you can have more than one entree... check it out: Prisnut - bacon cake! ham, bacon, cheese, onions, eggs, baked up then cooked to order on the griddle Artichoke Heart, Pesto and Sundried Tomato Strata Creole Grits - ham, bacon, peppers, vegetables Sourcream Potato Casserole (worth every fat gram) Southwest Black Bean Polenta with Molé Sauce Breakfast Burrito with Bacon, Eggs & Cheddar topped with Molé Fresh Summer Tomato Pie with Basil and Parmesan Reggiano Banana Blintz Casserole with Chocolate Gravy - you *have* to try this, it's soooooo good! Scrambled Organic Eggs with Fresh Herbs and Cheddar Cheese Bacon Gravy on Biscuits - have these with sour cream potatoes, you won't be able to stop eating Fresh Banana Bread Carrotcake Muffins Hot Sour Cream Biscuits Can you stand it? Let me reiterate that Chef Mary Stodola is going to keep the Sunday Brunch alive at Bongo Java, and that I'll be serving breakfast and lunch and take out at the new cafe at 25th and Vanderbilt Place, Monday thru Friday. Hope to see you Sunday! Michele - Good and Good For You |
